Race No. 3 of the
Pioneer Pole Buildings Inc. 'Short Track Four Crown' takes
place at the historic Five Mile Point Speedway in
Kirkwood, N.Y., with the fourth running of the Short Track
SuperNationals presented by Dart Machinery on Saturday,
Oct. 8. The SuperNationals, dubbed as the “Working Man’s
Race” has become the low-cost alternative on Columbus Day
Weekend for the average ‘weekly racer’ Modified teams.
The 50-lap Modified
feature pays $5,000 to the winner (with “Gambler’s Fee”
posted) plus lap money and numerous contingency and bonus
awards.
The 2010 Short Track
SuperNationals drew a gargantuan field of 72 Modifieds,
with Justin Holland, a White Lake, N.Y., driver who
epitomizes the “Working Man’s Race” motto, earning a
victory worth $6,650. The SuperNationals event will have
all racing activity on Saturday with an open practice on
Friday night (Oct. 7).
