Bob Miller Hands Over Reading Mall Show Operations; Brett Deyo Takes Helm For 2010 Show

READING, PA - The Racing Legends Reunion & Car Show will return to the Fairgrounds Square Mall for its 25th anniversary in 2010.
After 24 years, event organizers Bob and Donna Miller announced during the show on Friday that they are in final negotiations to transition the show into the hands of auto racing writer/publicist Brett Deyo.
"Both Donna and I really enjoyed doing this show for 24 years. We made so many friends and had the opportunity to meet many of the true legends of racing," Miller said.
"Some of our fondest memories include our time with Tommy Hinnershitz, Al Tasnady, Larry Dickson, Gary Bettenhausen and Mario Andretti. We feel good about our efforts of preserving the memories of Reading and that is something we will continue to do with the Reading Historical Society."
Deyo, 26, addressed the crowd during Friday night's reunion - unveiling a 25th anniversary show logo - and later at the BASH Racing Movie Party at the Temple (Pa.) Fire Company.
Deyo announced plans to organize the first-ever reunion of Penn National Speedway, 15 years after the Grantville, Pa., facility held its final event.
Additionally, a Don Marks Memorial Contribution to Motorsports Award will be presented during the 2010 event, planned for Feb. 21-27.
The Reading Reunion will again play a key role in the show.
"It's just time to bring some new and fresh ideas to the show, and that is something Brett Deyo can certainly deliver," Miller said.  "I will be in the background to help him in any way I can."
