Early
Registration Going Strong For 2010 IRCO Dirt Track
Heroes Car Show At Phillipsburg Mall
PHILLIPSBURG, NJ - Early
registration for the 2010 IRCO Community Federal
Credit Union Dirt Track Heroes Show at the
Phillipsburg Mall indicates the event's third
edition could produce a record turnout of
current-day and vintage race cars.
Local auto racing - past and present - will be the
focus of attention March 7-13, 2010 at the
Phillipsburg Mall, located on Route 22 East in
Phillipsburg, N.J.
Veteran Modified racer Mike Hendershot, who recently
received a Determination Award at the New Egypt
(N.J.) Speedway Awards Banquet, was the first
official entry with his No. 80 sail-panel-outfitted
big-block Modified. Hendershot, of Hackettstown,
N.J., is a 20-year racing veteran.
Other early entries include ARDC Midget lady racer
Stephanie Stevens, Grandview (Pa.) Speedway NASCAR
Whelen All-American Series Late Model star Kory
Fleming, New Egypt second-generation sensation
Willie Osmun and last year's Hamlin (Pa.) Speedway
wingless 600cc Micro-Sprint champion Mark Gilmore.
The Pados brothers of the CARQUEST Gasoline Alley
Show return to host the nightly events and
interviews. Several guest announcers will be on hand
during the weeklong event, adding to the
festivities.
The "new" J&L Speed Supplies, located in Hellertown,
Pa., will have a presence at the IRCO Dirt Track
Heroes Show. J&L operator Harry Landis has plans for
a booth. He will also display his No. 31 Sportsman
car, which will see action at Big Diamond (Pa.)
Raceway in 2010.
New Egypt Speedway general manager Danny Serrano has
indicated the popular Garden State facility would be
well represented at the Dirt Track Heroes event.
Additionally, there will be collectibles, novelties
and current-day/vintage race films on sale during
the event. The IRCO Dirt Track Heroes Car Show will
again produce its own souvenir t-shirt and program
book.
Race teams looking to register for the event should
log on to the show Web site at
www.bdmotorsportsmedia.com.
The show flyer and entry form is located on the main
page. Teams and their sponsors will receive
mainstream exposure from the thousands visiting the
mall each day. A nominal entry fee of $25 covers
insurance for the week.
The third edition of the IRCO Community Federal
Credit Union Dirt Track Heroes Car Show is a joint
effort between event originator Bob Miller and Brett
Deyo.
IRCO Community Federal Credit has been the lead
sponsor of the Dirt Track Heroes event since its
inception in 2008. To find out more on IRCO, visit
