Top Regional Drivers To Serve You At
Applebee's Fifth Street Highway Location During 25th
Annual Racing Legends Reunion
READING, PA - Top drivers from all
varieties of motorsports in the region will be ready
to serve you at Applebee's during the 25th annual
Racing Legends Reunion & Car Show presented by Reading
Eagle and WEEU 830 AM.
The show is set for Feb. 21-27 at the Fairgrounds
Square Mall located on 5th Street Highway in Reading,
Pa., the former site of the famed Reading Fairgrounds
Speedway.
Applebee's Neighborhood Bar & Grill, located at 3050
Fifth Street Highway in Reading, has partnered with
show management to present three nights of driver
bartending.
Local motorsports will take over Applebees on Mon.,
Feb. 22, Wed., Feb. 24 and Thurs., Feb. 25. Driver
bartending and serving will begin at approximately 9
p.m., moments after the show has closed at the mall
each night.
On Monday night (Feb. 22), in conjunction with Pioneer
Pole Buildings Inc. 'Open Wheel Night' at the show,
drivers from the American Racing Drivers Club (ARDC)
and the United Racing Company (URC) will step behind
the bar.
Scheduled to appear are ARDC Midget standout Steve
Buckwalter of Royersford, Pa., 2009 URC Sprint Car
champion J.J. Grasso of Middletown, Del., URC young
gun Davey Sammons of Bordentown, N.J., and ARDC star
Tracy Readinger of Oley, Pa.
On Wednesday night (Feb. 24), the stars of Modified
racing at Grandview Speedway (Bechtelsville, Pa.) and
Big Diamond Raceway (Forestville, Pa.) take center
stage at the show as Reading Plastic Fabricators Inc.
present 'Modified Madness Night' with driver
interviews and autographs.
Modified racing stars scheduled to serve Wednesday at
Applebee's include eight-time Grandview NASCAR Whelen
All-American Series 358-Modified champion Jeff Strunk
of Bechtelsville, Pa., former Penn Can (Pa.) Speedway
champion Mike Gular of Green Lane, Pa., high-profile
race winner Kevin Hirthler of Boyertown, Pa., and
consistent veteran Doug Manmiller of Shoemakersville,
Pa.
Thursday's (Feb. 25) show lineup, presented by Joe
Adams Lettering LLC, pays tribute to drivers from the
Late Model and Sportsman divisions.
At Applebee's, the full-fender Late Model stars set to
be on hand include two-time and defending Grandview
NASCAR Whelen All-American Series Late Model champion
Brian Shuey of Shoemakersville, Pa., former four-time
Grandview NASCAR Late Model champion Chuck Schutz of
Pottstown, Pa., and Oley, Pa.'s Nate Christman, who
won in his rookie season at the track in '09.
The schedule of driver bartending appearances is
subject to change.
During the week of Feb. 21-27, the Fairgrounds Square
Mall will be jammed with current-day race cars
representing many divisions and sanctioning groups,
vintage and restored race cars, speedway exhibits and
displays and vendors.
Drivers of today and yesterday will be on hand
periodically throughout the show for on-stage
interviews and autograph sessions.
Among the show highlights are the 600Scene.com
Small Car Roundtable (Tuesday evening, Feb. 23 at 7:30
p.m.), the annual Reading Fairgrounds Speedway Reunion
(Friday evening, Feb. 26 at 6:30 p.m.) and the Penn
National Speedway Reunion (Saturday afternoon, Feb. 27
at 5 p.m.).
Rich "Toby" Tobias Jr. will take the stage on Monday
evening to discuss his affordable racing divisions,
including the growing SpeedSTR Midget Series, as part
of Pioneer Pole Buildings Inc. 'Open Wheel Night' at
the show.
Show awards - including the first Don Marks Memorial
Contribution to Motorsports Award - will be
distributed during the popular BASH Racing Party to be
held Friday night, Feb. 26 at the Temple Fire Company,
just blocks from the mall, beginning at 9 p.m.
The BASH Party will feature music for dancing, a cash
bar, racing movies (including 2009 footage from the
Pennsylvania Dual-Track circuit) and plenty of bench
racing.
Bert Jones, proprietor of Beer City located in
Quakertown, Pa., has signed on as the awards sponsor
for the BASH. Jones owns the No. 15 NASCAR Whelen
All-American Series 358-Modified driven by Jason
Hamilton at Grandview (Pa.) Speedway.
Lee Myles Transmissions Pennsylvania locations in
Reading, Birdsboro, Allentown, Easton, Mt. Pocono &
York will provide the sound for the BASH.
Tickets to the BASH are $10 and will be sold during
the show and at the door.
Registration for the show is ongoing. Space is
reserved on a first-come, first-served basis. Race

Speedway, the NEETS Enduro Series and the Montgomery
County Quarter Midget Racing Club.
Vendors will be on hand selling national and local
racing memorabilia, collectibles, racing DVDs and much
more.
Once again, the 25th annual Racing Legends Reunion &
Car Show presented by Reading Eagle and WEEU 830 AM
will produce its own commemorative program book and

Feb. 26 (5-9 p.m.) and Sat., Feb. 27 (5-9 p.m.) at the
Grandview display.
